kathleen   Foster City Community Chorus

PPMAA welcomes Hsueh-Ching (“Mia”) Chien back for another season with the Foster City Community Chorus! Mia is currently a faculty member at Notre Dame de Namur University, a staff accompanist and vocal coach at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, as well as choir director at Hope United Methodist Church. She received a master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance from Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany. She is also a graduate of the National Taiwan Normal University with a bachelor's degree and was awarded the Taiwan University Lecturer's Certificate and the Teacher's Certificate.

Before coming to the United States, Ms. Chien taught piano to gifted students from elementary school to university levels in Taiwan. She served on the piano faculty at the National Taichung University of Education and the Tainan University of Technology in Taiwan. Ms. Chien has given many concerts in USA, Europe, and Taiwan.

Heart & Soul

PMAA welcomes Richard (“Chad”) Thomas back for another season with Heart & Soul! Chad has been an active performer and accompanist for over 20 years. He studied piano at San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as with instructors associated with Eastman School of Music, Julliard, San Francisco State University, and California State University – Sacramento. He has been piano accompanist for several stage productions as well as being a music teacher in the Greater Bay Area.
